I have been so busy with the Baby Steps side of the business these last couple months, that I completely forgot to upload the October cover. Columbus Parent wanted a more mature look for this cover to encourage parents of high school age kids to pick up the mag to read the college guide, so they chose a photo of one of my 2009 seniors. Adam is a senior at Pickerington Central and did an amazing job on the shoot. This photo was just perfect for a magazine cover!
I have had several people email me asking about the October and November issues of Columbus Parent Magazine. Yes, I did do the covers for both of those issues but with the busyness of the holiday rush, I completely forgot to upload them to the blog! I know…shame on me!
For the October cover, the editors wanted to highlight their “2008 Family Guide to Ohio Colleges” so we went with one of my high school seniors. Adam is a senior at Pickerington Central and did an amazing job at his senior session! This photo was just perfect for a magazine cover.
For the November Issue, they wanted to highlight a feature story on families with a fall feel to it and I just happened to capture this great photo of “Baby W” and his parents just days before the cover submission. Of course I had to use it!
The December Issue should be out in the next week or so, so check back soon!
As many of you already know, we are heading out of town on Sunday to celebrate the boys’ 5th and 2nd birthdays with Mickey and Minnie at Disney World. The kids are both super excited for the trip (as are we of course!) so it should be a week to remember! I will of course post photos of our adventures when we return.
So…I am trying to get everything done before we head out of town. I have proofed all the photos from the mini-sessions and have sent the log-in info to everyone so check your inbox if you are expecting a gallery. If you have been notified that your order is in and ready, please remember that you must pick up your package before Sunday. All orders that have been placed prior to Friday (today) at midnight will be processed and sent to the lab for printing while I am gone. Orders will then be ready the following week.
I will have limited access to phone and email, so if you have any questions, need to book a session, or need to speak with me, please send me an email or leave a message and I will get back to you as soon as I return. If you have an issue that needs immediate assistance, please explain your issue in your message and I will try to get back with you.
Thanks so much for a great holiday shooting season! I will talk to you all when I return from sunny Florida!
It’s time for another yummy newborn session! This little guy was just adorable! I did mom’s maternity session back in September so I had been waiting for his arrival. We had to re-schedule this session due to my illness last week so “E” ended up being exactly 2 weeks old. Usually by 2 weeks the babies are a bit grumpy but this little guy did a great job! Dad just got a tattoo on his shoulder of “Baby E”‘s hand print, so I just had to take a photo of it. How awesome is it to have a your baby’s hand print on your body for life?!?!
Okay, now this photo needs some explanation. I have not had one newborn session where we get the baby naked and NOT have it pee or poop on someone. It’s just a part of the job. I have not, however, managed to get a photo of the act as it happens. I have tried many times but it has just not happened….until now! Mom and Dad, you will be receiving a complimentary 4×6 print documenting this momentous event in your lives! I’m sure you will be proud to show it off to all your friends and family! 🙂
“The R Family”:
This session was so much fun! I shot little “J”‘s newborn session last January and it’s amazing how much he has grown up since then. The wind started to pick up as soon as we started this session so we got the shots done as quickly as we could and then headed inside to Old Bag of Nails to warm up and chat for a bit. It worked out great because my next session was a good friend of “The R Family” so we all got to hang out and catch up before heading out to shoot the next session.
“The D Family”:
I have photographed “Little C” a few times over the past year but this time was by far the most fun session! He was super smiley and happy to have his photo taken despite the chilly weather. Several times this little guy just went up to a rock and struck a pose with a big cheesy smile all on his own. It was so adorable!!
“The S Family”:
This family was so much fun! You could just tell they really love playing around and joking with each other. All I had to do was stand back and shoot away! Poor “Little G” wasn’t so sure she wanted to be in the photos but as soon as “Little J” started tickling her, we got a couple smiles in there.
I want to thank all of you for coming out and braving the chilly weather with me for these sessions. I had such a great time doing these mini-sessions so I will be offering them again several times a year. Keep an eye on the blog for future dates and deals. I had such a good time doing the mini-sessions this past weekend. It was super chilly and windy but everyone seemed to have a great time. It’s amazing how easy going most little kids are! I think it was the adults that were feeling the cold more than the kids. I had some much fun seeing all my former clients again. I will post a couple families now with more to come tomorrow…
“The L Family”:
This is my second time shooting with “Little T” but the first time shooting the whole family. I couldn’t believe how much “T” had grown in the past several months! “T” was getting a little cranky when I suggested that Dad put him up on his shoulders. As soon as he was up there, Dad started tickling him and what resulted is one of the cutest Father/Son photos that I have taken to date. I just love it!
“The Y Family”:
This is the forth time I have shot with this family, so we are getting to know each other pretty well! The last time I saw “Baby G” he was only a few days old for his newborn shoot so it was so fun to see him again. “Little A” wasn’t too excited about getting her photos taken in the chilly weather but once we put her coat on and started collecting fallen leaves, she was having a great time!
My senior reps, Kaitlyn and Taylor, wanted to get some fun fall shots to round out their senior portfolio so we met up this weekend for a quick (but chilly) fall senior session. They both did an amazing job, as always!
